This is why you’re always tired, even when you sleep enough

3. Eat sensibly (you know how).

Fatty and carbohydrate-rich foods make you hungry, but they don’t help you feel good. Choose an iron-rich portion of whole grains, green vegetables and red meat or other protein on your plate. Pass the candy shelf without stopping and grab nuts and dried fruit for snacks.

Don’t forget breakfast. Porridge, sugar-free muesli or wholemeal bread will give you energy for a long day.

4. Don’t have fireworks.

Depending on your diet, your blood sugar can spike and drop dramatically throughout the day. Sweet treats, processed foods and soft drinks affect your blood sugar like a firework rocket: quick rise, momentary indulgence, silent drop.

Bananas are better than chocolate at curbing sweet cravings, but if you’re craving sweets all the time, consider a fruit fast. Your body will get used to a less sweet life in a few weeks.
