
Salt should not be used in cooking, but this does not mean that sodium intake is low. Salt is used to prevent spoilage of preserved foods. Excess sodium causes the body to retain water and the skin to swell. Replace salt with aromatic herbs for a delicious salty taste.

All processed meats, including sausages and bacon (NO!), are full of sulfites, salt and other preservatives that cause skin irritation. The resulting inflammation accelerates skin aging. Replace processed proteins with meat prepared from natural ingredients. Occasional abstinence from meat will lead to healthier skin.
