«Great joy is not always loud» – these are 10 things I learned in hospital pediatric wards

The first thing I learned in hospital was: «you can’t protect your child from everything». But the most important lesson was: ‘there is always hope’.

In recent years, I have spent quite a lot of time in the corridors and rooms of hospital paediatric wards. For example, these are some of the things I have learned:

1. You cannot protect your child from everything

No matter how much you hope, want and try. No matter how much you try, how much you try, how much you try, no matter how much you try, no matter how much you try, no matter how much you try, no matter how much you try, no matter how much you try.

An adult would be willing to do anything to make the child feel better, but sometimes there is little he or she can do. Suddenly you realise that anything can happen to anyone, at any time.

2. Touch is important

Being close comforts the worried, parent and child. If for one reason or another you can’t hold your loved one, maybe you can hold their hand or stroke their hair.
