It would be great if love gave you the ability to read another person’s mind.

But it doesn’t. You can’t know your partner’s thoughts even if you’ve lived by their side for 50 years.

«It’s healthy to trust each other. Trust is a prerequisite for a relationship. But it is dangerous to cling to childish thoughts like ‘I know what my partner is thinking’ or ‘he would never do anything bad to me’,» says Marjo Ehn.

«It’s good to maintain a certain humility and realism in a relationship. You can’t know someone’s thoughts if you don’t ask them.»
