How to Manage Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

5.Schedule Breaks
Don’t spend the day at your desk. Set the reminder on your computer or phone for 1 to 2 hours. When it goes off, get up and walk for a few minutes. Then reset the alarm. You can use the timer to remind you to stretch your legs and feet, and move them around while you sit, too.

6.Try Compression Stockings
Your doctor may recommend these to help prevent clots. The stockings put gentle pressure on your feet and legs to improve blood flow. If you don’t like a particular pair, don’t give up. Talk to your doctor first. A different brand may help. Make sure you have the right size and the right amount of pressure. Compression socks might be more comfortable for you, so ask if that’s an option.
