FitnessKeeper is the global company behind a most-successful mobile fitness platform; Runkeeper that leverages GPS technology in mobile devices to help fitness enthusiasts, particularly runners to better track, measure and enhance their fitness. Founded in 2008, the GPS fitness tracking app for Android and iOS has a community of more than 50 million users worldwide today. The application consistently track performance, helping users to measure progress, view a detailed history of activities, and follow detailed fitness plans. The Japanese leading shoe brand; ASICS acquired the Boston-based FitnessKeeper for US$85 million in 2016.
4.Under Armour
Under Armour is one of the largest shoe brands in the world with offerings including, apparel, footwear, and accessories. The company entered the booming fitness apps market with the acquisition of MapMyFitness in 2013 and later concluded another deal with MyFitnessPal and Endomondo. However, Under Armour laid the basis for its connected fitness business in 2015 with the formation of digital fitness community across its four mobile fitness apps: Endomondo, MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal, and UA Record. With this suite of connected fitness apps, Under Armour is now serving more than 200 million active users across the world.
