On particularly warm days, save time for exploring the Central Canal, which bisects Indianapolis.

Travelers can spend the weekend perusing the exhibits at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, attending productions at the Guthrie Theater or getting a dose of local history at sights like the Minnesota State Capitol and the Minnesota History Center. On warm, sunny days, visitors will also want to take advantage of Minnesota’s natural beauty by going for a stroll through the Chain of Lakes byway district or Minnehaha Park, which sits a few miles south of the Twin Cities’ downtown areas.
