5. LUX* South Ari Atoll

Speaking of kids, boy will they love it here! A welcome book encourages them to search for treasures on the property while the PLAY kids’ club packs fun into each and every day. While they’re entertained, spend time in the spa; borrow a bike and cycle the jetty; and explore the Marine Protected Area, which includes 50 dive sites and plenty of opportunities to swim with dolphins, reef fish, and even whale sharks.
6. LUX* North Malé Atoll
The idyllic LUX* North Malé Atoll is the ultimate destination for romance. A large infinity pool sits almost at the ocean, flanked by comfortable sun loungers that look out to the turquoise sea. A spa awaits those in need of relaxation, and attentive staff make sure you won’t want for anything.
Accommodations are as contemporary and swanky as you’d expect from a five-star resort, and they were designed to make the most of the luscious landscape.
Two-story overwater bungalows boast rooftop patios, private pools, and floor windows that offer stunning views of the marine life below. If you have your own yacht, good news! You can park it on your private dock at the LUX* Overwater Retreat. The Beach villas are also two- or three-stories tall, featuring roof decks, infinity pools, and a gazebo.
Kids are welcome, too. Those between 3 and 11 can join daily programs and activities at PLAY to give their grownups a little time to explore the area alone. Teens between 12 and 17 are also welcomed, with a separate area featuring art classes and other interesting opportunities to keep them entertained. The kids’ menus make it easy to feed the pickiest of eaters at the on-site restaurants.
